From week to week (or day to day) I have different songs or a single song that I am completely obsessed with. The songs that I obsess over are practically the only songs that I listen to that week. This week, I have a couple of songs that I am in love with. Those songs would be: "Double Yellow Lines" by Sirah, "Breathe" covered by Chyler Leigh, and "Part of Me" by Katy Perry.
I love "Double Yellow Lines" by Sirah because it is really upbeat and I can listen to it no matter what mood I'm in. I typically do not like rap songs but I have been in love with this song since the first time I heard it. I cannot rap for the life of me (not that I really ever want to). Since I cannot rap, I can't really preform this song that well. This is sad because I really want to be able to preform this song and preform it well. This song- to me- is about being on the road and basically becoming a really big musician. I really want to be a musician when I grow up, so this song gives me some incite on how its going to be when I'm on the road traveling from city to city.
I love the cover of "Breathe" done by Chyler Leigh because I love Chyler's voice and because it is from my favorite TV show ever, Grey's Anatomy. I love singing this song because it has such a nice melody and it is within my range. I have pretty much been listening to this song all the time this week. This song can keep you going when you are down or you can still listen to it if you are the happiest person on the planet. This song- to me- means that when life isn't how you want it, all you can do is breathe and it will get better soon.
I love "Part of Me" by Katy Perry because it is also very upbeat and it has a great melody. I actually just downloaded this song onto my phone a couple of days ago (legally of course). I had never really gotten into this song before I downloaded it. In fact, the first time I listened to this song, I didn't like it at all and I turned it off not even halfway through the song. I also love singing this song because it's not typically something I would sing and it is a challenge for me.
I love music. Music is literally what my life is all about. I typically like slow songs but I occasionally become obsessed with fast paced songs. I love singing. I can typically sing slower songs better that fast paced ones. I play the flute and I can kind of play the piano but it's not very good (probably because I was never taught how to play). I come from a very musical family so I really should love music.

1. I found your entry very interesting because I enjoy music as well.
ReplyDelete2. You described what two songs were about except "Part of Me" What was that song about?
3. I found about one spelling error and a couple grammar errors, but it was well written overall, so good job! You said preform and it's perform.** another error was that you used its instead of it's. Lastly, in the last paragraph I believe that the last word in the second line is supposed to be than and not that.
Maggie, I really liked your entry because I am also obsessed with music. I love the song "Part of Me" so I could really relate to what you were saying.
ReplyDeleteDo you have an all time favorite artist?
You have really good information, so you should try to be more creative with your paragraph beginnings, just because they all start with "I love". I think changing that would make this entry perfect!

ReplyDeleteYour classmates have offered good advice, so take it. I too really liked the entry and it's clear that you're passionate about music and should have a fruitful and enjoyable time writing weekly on the topic. I don't have too much criticism for you because this post is so good and your classmates' comments are so helpful, but one thing you may want to look at is the last paragraph. It just doesn't fit here--in fact, it's almost like you were writing just to get to the 500 word minimum. It doesn't COHERE with the rest of the piece, but it could work nicely as a start on your next post!
