Example Conclusion

Thesis: California is the number one place that I want to visit before I die.

Conclusion: California is the number one place that I want to visit before I die. California offers a diverse landscape and diverse weather, a great night life, and the opportunity to meet the cast of my favorite show, Grey's Anatomy. My uncle and aunt live there, so I have always dreamed about going to visit them. I hope I can get on a plane out there soon.

Music and Me

I have loved music since I was really little. I remember singing along to Hilary Duff songs in my room thinking I was the best singer in the entire world (maybe even in the entire universe). As I have said, I come from a really musical family, so music automatically is in my blood. Although not everyone in my family can sing really well, they still have some sort of musical talent.
I have extreme stage fright when I am not on stage performing. I know that sounds strange but it is very, very true. In my mind, I think that I'm going to do horribly and that I am going to mess up the song (which has been known to happen on occasion). I psych my self out before I go on stage so much, that I often times start crying and chicken out. I think that everyone will start booing as soon as I step out on to the stage. When I get on stage though, all of that fear melts away.
I remember when I was little, before I had a lot of experience with music, getting a Barbie boom-box that had a microphone for karaoke and being forced to perform for the rest of my family and being absolutely terrified.
I have tried several times to write songs but I have never really been able to fully complete a good, solid song. I have even taken a class on songwriting. The class kind of helped me in the sense that I know now what the process is. It didn't really help me in the sense that I didn't get far due to my seemingly permanent writer's block. I signed up to take the class again so lets hope it helps me this time around. Because of this
I haven't really decided whether or not I want to make music my profession in the future and I am also worried that producers won't like me so they will reject me.
I can play the flute and I can sort of play the piano but not very well. I was in the school band from fourth grade all the way through eight grade which is where I learned to play the flute. I never really practiced outside of school so I wasn't the best at it as I could have been. On the piano, I was only taught what letter each key represented, so I had to teach myself how to hold my hands and how to use both hands at the same time. Since I played the flute, I already had developed hand-eye coordination and I was sort of able to play with both hands. I can only play simple songs like "Ode To Joy" (which I was first taught how to play on the flute so once I knew where the notes were on the piano I could play it) and the intro to one of my most favorite songs ever, "Pieces" by the band Red.

Songs of the Week

From week to week (or day to day) I have different songs or a single song that I am completely obsessed with. The songs that I obsess over are practically the only songs that I listen to that week. This week, I have a couple of songs that I am in love with. Those songs would be: "Double Yellow Lines" by Sirah, "Breathe" covered by Chyler Leigh, and "Part of Me" by Katy Perry.

I love "Double Yellow Lines" by Sirah because it is really upbeat and I can listen to it no matter what mood I'm in. I typically do not like rap songs but I have been in love with this song since the first time I heard it. I cannot rap for the life of me (not that I really  ever want to). Since I cannot rap, I can't really preform this song that well. This is sad because I really want to be able to preform this song and preform it well. This song- to me- is about being on the road and basically becoming a really big musician. I really want to be a musician when I grow up, so this song gives me some incite on how its going to be when I'm on the road traveling from city to city.

I love the cover of "Breathe" done by Chyler Leigh because I love Chyler's voice and because it is from my favorite TV show ever, Grey's Anatomy. I love singing this song because it has such a nice melody and it is within my range. I have pretty much been listening to this song all the time this week. This song can keep you going when you are down or you can still listen to it if you are the happiest person on the planet. This song- to me- means that when life isn't how you want it, all you can do is breathe and it will get better soon.

I love "Part of Me" by Katy Perry because it is also very upbeat and it has a great melody. I actually just downloaded this song onto my phone a couple of days ago (legally of course). I had never really gotten into this song before I downloaded it. In fact, the first time I listened to this song, I didn't like it at all and I turned it off not even halfway through the song. I also love singing this song because it's not typically something I would sing and it is a challenge for me.

I love music. Music is literally what my life is all about. I typically like slow songs but I occasionally become obsessed with fast paced songs. I love singing. I can typically sing slower songs better that fast paced ones. I play the flute and I can kind of play the piano but it's not very good (probably because I was never taught how to play). I come from a very musical family so I really should love music.
